What to do
Christmas in France is much less commercialised than in the UK........and preparations
don’t really start until almost December. While Christmas day is a holiday, Boxing
Day is just a normal working day here. This is definitely a place to chill out ...............read
a book, enjoy a walk, anticipate a delicious meal!

During the day why not:
- Stroll through our nearest town Eymoutiers to admire the beautifully decorated trees
outside all the shops (real of course!) and admire the Christmas street lights.
- Set off on foot from our local village for the 12 kms Three Churches Walk
- Visit Limoges to see the magnificent window displays in the shops and maybe take
a trip around the Christmas lights on le petit train.
- Drive up to Lac de Vassivière, and take an invigorating walk and breath in the Limousin
refreshing, pure air.
- For a glimpse of snow and a real French ski resort, drive to Le Mont-Dore - we’re
only 2 hours drive away!
- Curl up in front of our log burner and read a book.
- We have a selection of board games to play and a satellite TV (French and UK) with
DVD player in our sitting room. On Boxing Day we plan to play a murder mystery game
in the late afternoon and over dinner!
