Christmas in France is much less commercialised than in the UK........and preparations don’t really start until almost December. While Christmas day is a holiday, Boxing Day is just a normal working day here. This is definitely a place to chill out ...............read a book, enjoy a walk, anticipate a delicious meal!

During the day why not:

Stroll through our nearest town Eymoutiers to admire the beautifully decorated trees outside all the shops (real of course!) and admire the Christmas street lights.
Set off on foot from our local village for the 12 kms Three Churches Walk
Visit Limoges to see the magnificent window displays in the shops and maybe take a trip around the Christmas lights on le petit train.
Drive up to Lac de Vassivière, and take an invigorating walk and breath in the Limousin refreshing, pure air.
For a glimpse of snow and a real French ski resort, drive to Le Mont-Dore - we’re only 2 hours drive away!
Curl up in front of our log burner and read a book.
We have a selection of board games to play and a satellite TV (French and UK) with DVD player in our sitting room. On Boxing Day we plan to play a murder mystery game in the late afternoon and over dinner!
