Travelling to the Limousin -
- La Chouette is conveniently situated 40 minutes drive from the A20 motorway, which runs north to south through central France.
- Although we live in a peaceful rural setting, we are less than 10 minutes drive from our nearest towns of Eymoutiers and Chateauneuf la Fôret.
- However you travel to La Chouette, you really need your own wheels once you're here as we're some distance from any public transport.
Planning your journey from the UK
- There are several ways to cross the Channel (ferries or Eurotunnel), depending on whereabouts in the UK you live.
- Once in France you can reach La Chouette in around 7 hours from most of the French Channel ports.
- There is an excellent French motorway system, which is much less congested than UK motorways and south of Vierzon, just to the north of the Limousin, the motorway is toll free.
- Alternatively, take your time driving and use the Routes Nationales, marked RN on maps, enjoy the scenery and avoid motorway tolls.
